Connect, Learn, and Share
Our events bring the community to life. They range from online workshops to global conferences, from grassroots Local Meetups to structured Training Sessions. This page is your central hub for everything scheduled: keynotes listed on the Conference Schedule, lightning talks announced via Twitter Updates and LinkedIn Updates, and co-working sessions coordinated in the Slack Community and Discord Community.
Whether you join virtually or in person, events are designed to connect knowledge with practice. Discussions that start in the Community Forum often evolve into live workshops. Code shared in the GitHub Repo is demoed during sessions. Security advisories from Web Security Trends are translated into practical exercises with resources from Cybersecurity Resources.
Types of Events
- Training Sessions: Hands-on cohorts that take forum guidance and turn it into practice. See the Training Sessions page for details.
- Conferences: Multi-day gatherings listed on the Conference Schedule, featuring keynotes, panels, and recordings.
- Meetups: Informal gatherings organized through Local Meetups, often tied to regional communities.
- Community showcases: Member-led talks announced in the Facebook Group and promoted via Twitter.
How to Participate
Register early to secure your place. We announce new events first on Twitter and LinkedIn, then mirror details in Slack, Discord, and the Facebook Group. Each listing links back here for official registration and context. If you’re unsure which event fits your goals, check the Forum for previews and reviews from past participants.
During events, expect clear documentation. Slides and code samples go to the GitHub Repo. Recaps and extended Q&A are published in the Forum. For security-related sessions, moderators post checklists updated with references from Cybersecurity Resources.
Behind the Scenes
Events are collaborative. Volunteers moderate sessions, sponsors provide resources, and participants share takeaways. Support from donations and sponsors keeps access affordable and sometimes free. Moderators coordinate logistics in Slack and Discord, while announcements flow across Twitter and LinkedIn. The ecosystem works together so you can focus on learning.
A single event often sparks multiple outputs: a new repo project, a forum guide, a meetup spin-off, or even a conference talk. This chain reaction ensures the time you spend here keeps paying off for months or years.
Supporting Events
If you’ve benefited from our events, consider giving back. Contributions via Donate or Sponsor Us directly fund logistics, recordings, and accessibility. Non-financial help is just as valuable—share your notes in the Forum, moderate a Slack or Discord channel, or propose a session for the next meetup.
Event health is measured by participation and impact. The more members engage—through feedback posts in the forum, example repos, or follow-up meetups—the stronger our programming becomes.
From Calendar to Community
Events are not endpoints—they’re catalysts. Each workshop, conference, or meetup creates new material for the repo, new summaries for the forum, and new highlights for social channels. When you participate, you’re not just learning—you’re adding to a cycle that keeps knowledge alive.
Share your experience afterward. Post screenshots in the Facebook Group, write a forum recap, or link slides in Slack. If you tried a security checklist, mention it under Cybersecurity Resources. If you built a demo, add it to the GitHub Repo. These follow-ups multiply the value of every event, ensuring lessons outlive the calendar slot they occupied.
